When is it appropriate to appoint a temporary project manager?
When a critical project is at risk of failing, when overall responsibility cannot be filled internally, or when there is a lack of pace, methodology and drive. Often, the trigger is a project that has already exceeded its deadlines and budget.
How quickly can an interim project manager take over?
Usually within a few days. Our senior executives have led similar projects on numerous occasions and do not require a lengthy induction period; a reliable assessment of the situation is usually available after one to two weeks.
How does this differ from traditional consultancy?
