Let’s discuss your situation.

In a confidential initial conversation, we identify the experience your project needs.

Restructuring requires clarity, consistency and leadership. Our Senior Executive Advisors take charge when companies are under pressure in terms of earnings, liquidity, market conditions or organisation – from stabilisation through reorientation to sustainable implementation.

Typical situations

When this practice group can help

  • Profits are plummeting, and the measures put in place are taking too long to take effect.
  • Liquidity is running low, and banks or investors expect a robust plan.
  • A reorganisation has been decided upon, but there is a lack of capacity within day-to-day operations to implement it.
  • The board of directors wishes to obtain an independent assessment before deciding on the next step.
  • A key position is vacant whilst the company is under pressure.

How we work

  1. 1

    Stabilise

Firstly, transparency is established regarding figures, liquidity and organisation. Immediate measures ensure the organisation’s ability to act and lay the foundation for sound decision-making.

  2. 2

    Reorientation

The business model, structures and costs are aligned with the future market position. Priorities, responsibilities and strategic objectives are set out in a binding manner.

  3. 3

    Implementing sustainable change

The measures are managed operationally, embedded in day-to-day business and handed over to internal management in a structured manner.

Frequently asked questions

Restructuring: your questions answered

When is the right time for restructuring?

As soon as it becomes apparent that earnings, liquidity or market position cannot be rectified through day-to-day operations. The sooner a decision is made, the greater the scope for action: those who wait lose options and will have to take more drastic measures later on.

Do you simply provide advice, or do you also take on responsibility?

Our Senior Executive Advisors do not act as traditional consultants, but instead assume operational responsibility in clearly defined roles – as line managers, project leaders or temporary board members. They help to drive implementation rather than merely recommending it.

How do you work with the existing management team?

We fill the gaps that the company is temporarily unable to cover and work within the existing management structure. Roles, decision-making processes and responsibilities are clearly defined at the start of the assignment.

What is the difference between a restructuring and a turnaround?

Restructuring realigns structures, costs and organisation. A turnaround also involves reversing the trend in earnings and market position. In practice, the two are intertwined: stabilisation, reorientation and sustainable implementation go hand in hand.
